Trip is July 12 to July 18, 2023

Meeting to discuss on Wednesday, April 12 at 5 p.m. in the Barber Room

Good News! Our FCC Tasajera Committee would like to coordinate sending a delegation to El Salvador this summer. Due to COVID we have not been able to travel and have been unable to meet with our Tasajera scholarship students, their families and CIS (Centro de Intercambio y Solidaridad) leaders. While in El Salvador, we would participate in the annual Youth Leadership Retreat in La Palma on July 14-16. 

Included in this trip would be the opportunity to visit CIS Headquarters, meet with other donors and scholarship students from throughout El Salvador, and have a day trip to the island of Tasajera. This trip offers the opportunity to tour the country, including historic sights, plus time to explore the La Palma artisan community. 

We will meet to discuss this opportunity and determine if we have any youth or young adults interested in being part of a delegation to this year’s Leadership Retreat in La Palma, El Salvador. MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR 5 P.M. APRIL 12, 2023 IN THE BARBER ROOM. Please come to interact with past participants, ask questions and learn further details. Our trip to Tasajera would be an excellent opportunity for our congregants and their families to better understand our Global Mission to Tasajera.

The cost per each person would be approximately $1,800 to include airfare, food, transportation, lodging and translators. There is some urgency to meet now, as airline tickets need to be purchased, vaccinations checked and passports up-to-date. 

If you cannot attend this meeting please contact Brent Arnold or Paula Stout. We must have a clear idea by Monday, May 1, 2023 of those wishing to attend.
