Greetings from your FCC Board. The board was active in April. First of all, we were excited to have Reverend JT in our pulpit the entire month. His inspirational sermons highlighted the Lenten and Easter season. JT is quickly learning about FCC and getting to know us as individuals. We are so happy he is with us for the next step in our transition process.
Also during April, we learned that the FCC Green Team’s application to become a Creation Justice congregation within the UCC was formally approved. This designation recognizes FCC’s ongoing efforts to be effective stewards for the earth’s resources and to promote environmentally sound practices within the local and world community.
The FCC Board recently approved the renewal of two important ministries within the church. A Pastoral Care ministry will utilize the wisdom, skill and compassion of members of our FCC community to reach out to, visit, and care for our members in times of illness, death or need. A second ministry of Aging and Spirituality is currently being revitalized after the long COVID hiatus. Please let me know if you would like additional information on these new ministries, or if you are interested in participating in either ministry.
I will be sharing a short message about the improving condition of FCC’s finances during worship on May 7. In keeping with our desire for transparency in all of our affairs, a Question and Answer session will be held following worship to answer any questions you may have about the financial condition and current ministries of FCC going forward.
Grace and peace be with you,
Dan Close, FCC Board Moderator
