The Board met this month with the chair of the Search Committee that is preparing for the search for a “designated term pastor”. The ten-member Search Committee has been working on a “Church Profile” document that will be available to pastors applying for the position. In April the Search Committee will be providing information to the congregation and asking for feedback.
Every month the board wrestles with the question of WHEN do we get to open the church for worship and meetings. With Lane County COVID-19 infections on the decline, Congregational Preschool (CPS) will be opening morning classes in April. Jonathan is forming a team of board members and facility committee members to create procedures and protocols for using the building. Indoor use of the building by congregants will be limited to different capacities for each room. Masks, social distancing, and sanitation will be required. Outdoor worship is being considered for the summer.
Two of the three shelters in the parking lot are now occupied with families, and by the time this newsletter is being read we are expecting a third family will be moved in as well. We are thankful these families are able to enjoy a safe, warm, dry place to live.
