As part of our church’s commitment to Social Justice and Witness, we have begun gathering a small group to consider what it means to be open and affirming, how we have helped and hindered our queer siblings, and to educate ourselves about the broad spectrum of gender identity.

What does it mean to be a person who identifies as nonbinary?  As transgendered?  How can we be truly open, welcoming and affirming if we don’t understand how christianity has impacted our queer loved ones?  How can we support our youth who identify as LGBTQ? How can we be a resource for parents and grand-parents of LGBTQ individuals if we don’t understand? An invitation to us all to consider these questions as we journey together.
