“As you do for the least of these…”Matthew 25:45
What is Parkside?
Parkside is the name of the homes on First Congregational Church’s property.
Parkside provides low-income housing to families with children currently without shelter. And gives FCC the opportunity to collaborate with St. Vincent de Paul’s successful Connections Program that offers strong support systems for families transitioning from homelessness into stable housing. Families in Connections work on skills from budgeting to parenting for at least one year, as they transition to permanent housing.
SVdP owns, and manages the two manufactured homes on church property that are home for one- two years to families with children. This one-time cost to FCC paves the way for generations of families in the future to enjoy transitional housing and SVdP support. This is a joyful fulfillment of our FCC mission to help families.
The church made available the land for Parkside, and FCC members raised over $200,000 to provide site preparation. Several local businesses donated labor, materials, and landscaping for this project.
