Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

There are many opportunities for children and families to be involved in our intergenerational church community.  For the most current happenings, click HERE

Kids Community!

Our FCC Kids Community program meets on Sunday mornings throughout the program year (September through May). We welcome children in our sanctuary and especially encourage them to join us for the children’s moment during worship. Afterwards, children head out together with an adult to the blue and yellow upstairs classrooms. All children, grades K-5 are welcome, so please come and ask questions, sing, play, learn, love and create. You are welcome in this space!

At FCC, we encourage children and youth to participate in worship. Some of the opportunities available include candle lighting (acolytes), liturgists, greeters, ushers and sharing of musical gifts!

Are you an adult looking to volunteer with children? We have opportunities for our lay people to assist in the classroom with activities and creating a joyful space. Please email Jessie Peterson, our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, at jessiep@fcceugene.org and we will look at the calendar together!

Childcare

Childcare is available for infants through preschoolers, downstairs in our preschool, through the double doors on the lower level, from 9-11 am, during Adult Education and Worship. During the summer months, childcare is offered during worship only. FCC also offers childcare periodically and upon request for church meetings and activities, please contact our Children’s Ministry Coordinator.

Children in Worship

Children ages 6 years and older are invited and encouraged to attend worship services with their parents. Clipboards with activities related to the scripture are available in the Narthex. There are regular opportunities for children to be involved in worship as candle lighters, liturgists, and musicians and special Children’s Moments are presented monthly.

Baptism

Baptism is a sacrament by which a person is initiated into the Church and into its faith, life, and hope. During worship, promises are made by the person being baptized, or their parents, and promises are made by the people of the church.  The promises are about loving God and following Jesus, and helping each other do that.  Water is put on the forehead of the person being baptized.  Baptism is available to persons of all ages.

If you are interested in baptism, please contact the church office or one of the ministers.
