5 p.m. in the Barber Room

You will live in joy and peace.

The mountains and hills will burst into song,

and the trees of the field will clap their hands.

Isaiah 55:12, New Living Translation

See if you can call up a sense of the land — now, right where you are as you read this email message — celebrating you and rejoicing in our fumbling attempts to discern what the Spirit is calling us to do as this working group on Indigenous relations. Take a couple breaths…

We’ll gather in person in the Barber Room at 5 p.m. We’ll check in with one another, remind ourselves what we’ve done since Don Gall led his three-part class in November, and brainstorm what we think the Spirit might be calling us to do. May we feel emboldened to invite conversations about how our church and its members — working individually, in small affinity groups, or collectively — might do some new and transformative thing in relationship to the land and in partnership with the Indigenous peoples who have long called this place home.

In other words: No homework. Just come, if you can. It will be life-giving. All are welcome!
