Nancy Mills of the League of Women Voters will offer a presentation on the voting process in Oregon in the context of the traditional voting process and current political news about voting. Voter registration will be available at the end of the session for those who are eligible to vote in Oregon but are not currently registered to vote here.

There are a number of concerns about the midterm elections from non-citizens being registered and voting, to opportunities to sabotage the ballot processing system, to the involvement of the federal government. This presentation takes a local/statewide view of these systems, outlining how they operate and the safeguards in place. In addition, we will discuss the current state of action of the federal government.

When citizens are confident that elections are fair and free, they are much more likely to vote.
