In April 2021, the Church Board authorized an In Person Worship Team to begin planning how we might worship together again safely and as soon as possible at the church. Since Lane County went back into the Very High Covid Risk Risk range just a week or so ago we had to push off our first Outdoor Worship Service to July 4th. Thankfully, the risk has since dropped and will hopefully stay lower after this holiday weekend. The plan is to offer Outdoor Worship during the summer (weather permitting). Then, sometime in the fall, and dependent on the advice of Oregon Health Authority, we will go back to having indoor worship.

There are many details to put together to make all this possible but thankfully our team is up to the task. Special thanks to Jim Brown, Jim Weston, Gretchen Jewett, Layne Brown, Lisa Morgan, Dr. Scott Johnson, Trish Thomas, and our chair, Mike Booth for working hard on all the details to help us worship together in person again…as safely as possible.

One of the details we need to work out is how to film all our future services. Our online worship services have been watched by thousands of people in our community over the past year. The accessibility of the online services will continue to offer our more vulnerable members and those out of town a way to worship and keep in touch with our community of faith.

In the coming days, the in person worship plan that our team is formulating will be sent to you in an email along with how you can help make Sunday morning possible. We are going to need a number of volunteers… including a Video/Editing Team to help us film the services.

I look forward to being together again soon.
