’Ohana High School Youth are invited to take part in our Faith Exploration program this fall, beginning Wednesday, September 20. This program is a vital component of spiritual formation at FCC and all high school youth, grades 9-12, are encouraged to attend. Even if you have already completed the class previously, you are welcome to come again! The program changes each year, depending on participants and speakers – there is always more to learn and opportunities to deepen our understanding of faith and spiritual traditions.

Classes will be led by Mark Lindberg and Gretchen Jewett along with our guest speakers, culminating in an overnight retreat on Saturday, October 21 and a Faith Exploration Celebration during worship on Sunday, October 22, when youth will have an opportunity to become members of FCC, if they so choose – no pressure.

The emphasis of Faith Explorations is always on exploration. We will provide overviews of Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Indigenous Spirituality, and Christianity (including Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, mainline Protestant, United Church of Christ and the progressive Christian movement). Imagine sitting around the campfire under the stars and asking the deeper questions of life. Faith Exploration has that flavor and is a joyful experience, providing opportunities for rich dialogue and interconnection. We hope you will join us!

Dates: Wednesday evenings, 7 to 8 p.m. in the Youth Room from September 20 through October 11, with an overnight retreat October 21. (Wednesday Night Connections Dinner beforehand at 6 p.m. for our first three weeks, then a pizza night on October 11).

Please contact Mark Lindberg at markl@fcceugene.org soon to let us know you plan on attending!
