The All Church Survey was completed and shared with the congregation in September. Much to our delight, a total of 186 persons completed the survey. Thanks to each and every one of you for participating in this important effort. We now have information about the hopes, dreams and challenges of FCC. The responses, and especially the written comments, reinforced the belief that people have a deep love for First Congregational Church, care about the social justice work we do in the community, are inspired by our music ministries, value our teaching and preaching ministries, and have a whole lot of different ways to express their ideas.

A small group of FCC board members and staff has been formed to plan a Staff/ Board retreat to take the next steps to lead the church forward. The retreat will utilize the findings of the All Church Survey to set new visions and goals. A major milestone in the life of FCC was the formal inauguration of a Finance Committee. This committee, comprised of the chairs of the personnel, facilities, stewardship and endowment committees, the board treasurer, the vice moderator of the board and members of the congregation, will meet regularly to guide the church in its financial activities, including establishing and managing a budget. Larry Flick was appointed to serve as church treasurer and a first order of business was to nominate and approve John Soper as Chair of the Finance Committee. Your church board is grateful to have an experienced and skilled team to help manage our fiscal affairs.

Blessings to each of you.
