We’ve been enjoying an awesome autumn of making connections, exploring our faith, and building a strong group dynamic! It is such a joy and privilege to serve with our young people and it has been wonderful to welcome many new faces of late. All of us are growing and learning from one another in the process.
October kicked off with Tasajera worship and a celebration including a piñata party, setting the tone for a great month ahead. Our Faith Exploration program was in full swing, we enjoyed Wednesday Night Connections dinners, took a sunset hike together up Spencer’s Butte, went out to the Johnson Family Farm for Walt’s Wild Wagon Ride and pumpkin slinging, had an overnight retreat at church, the Cauldron Cup competition, and pumpkin carving party.
In November, we are looking forward to our service opportunity with the Turtle Flats Restoration Project on Saturday, November 11, youth group night on November 18, and we already have our eyes on the Advent Festival and high school youth group Newport, Oregon Coast Retreat in December.
Deep gratitude goes out to all of our young adults for showing up and jumping in enthusiastically… and to parents and families who support all of these wonderful opportunities to be ’Ohana family together! Blessings to each of you on the journey, may you know the Peace of the Spirit, and a deep sense of belonging, here at FCC!
In peace with love,
Youth Minister, Mark Lindberg
