Dear Friends,
Our Rooted for the Future stewardship campaign is underway, and we are so excited by the generosity, enthusiasm, and momentum we are already feeling throughout our congregation.
Over the next several weeks, we will be celebrating the many ways generosity comes to life at First Congregational Church. It is found in our financial gifts, certainly—but also in the time, talent, energy, and care that so many people contribute to our church every day. Together, these gifts make possible the vibrant worship, growing ministries, meaningful connections, and opportunities to serve that define our church community.
As we look toward the future, we also want to create opportunities to talk together about where we are, where we’re going, and what it will take to sustain the church and ministries we value.
That’s why we are inviting you to join us for Nourish & Flourish. These are small-group conversations where we will share a meal, dig a little deeper into our church’s financial picture, talk about this year’s stewardship goals, answer questions, and hear from you about what matters most as we plan for the future.
Four gatherings are planned:
- Sunday, October 11 — after church
- Sunday, October 18 — after church
- Wednesday, October 28 at 7 p.m. — following Connections Dinner
- Sunday, November 8 — after church
Each gathering is a stand-alone conversation, so simply choose the date that works best for you. Space is limited to 30 people at each gathering, so please reserve your spot below. We hope everyone who is interested will join us for one of these important—and enjoyable!— conversations.
Last year, together, we took an extraordinary step forward. After years of relying on reserves to balance our annual operating budget, your generosity enabled us to balance our annual operating budget without relying on reserves. This year, we have the opportunity to take the next step toward long-term sustainability by bringing more of our ongoing ministries —including our thriving children and youth programs—under the support of pledged giving.
This is what Rooted for the Future is all about: celebrating what our generosity has already made possible while ensuring that the ministries we treasure can continue to grow and flourish.
We have deep roots. We have tremendous momentum. And there is so much ahead to look forward to.
Together, we are Rooted for the Future.
With gratitude,
Liz Gill, Stewardship Committee Chair
