On the last Sunday of January the Social Justice and Witness team offered a Ministry Moment describing some of the actions that members of FCC completed in 2023. Here is the complete list. Look around the lobby, the Fellowship Hall and around the atrium downstairs to see a colorful visual display of some of the organizations that FCC supported.

The SJW team is interested in knowing what you think about how FCC balances support for social justice activities, i.e., prevention efforts vs meeting immediate needs. We also want to know if you are involved in a social justice focused organization in the community that you think would be a good partner with FCC. Please tell us about the organization and any feedback about how we balance our efforts. Contact the SJW team chair, Val Close.

All are invited to join the Social Justice and Witness Committee. If you are interested in mental health, combatting racism and discrimination, addressing needs for those who are hungry or unhoused, the climate crisis, supporting immigrants or asylum seekers or supporting at risk children and youth, there is a place for you and your energy and commitments; your perspective would be valued. Contact Val Close or simply Zoom into our next meeting on the second Monday of the month, February 12 at 4:30 p.m.
