Let’s break out the picnic blankets, bring some lawn chairs and enjoy dinner together, followed by a vespers service led with music and Spirit. We’ll offer these special summer opportunities for community Wednesdays, June 12, July 10 and August 14.

All are welcome for this time to connect with each other and our natural world on the south lawn of the church. (We will put out some tables and chairs so all are comfortable whether on the lawn or sitting at a table.)

Come early for a 5 p.m. summer prayer group gathering in the Barber Room.

Many thanks to everyone who attended Wednesday Night Connections this past church year. We had anywhere from 40 to 75 people in attendance at every dinner! This is such a fun ministry to be a part of, and it is wonderful to see all the relationships that have grown and are growing in our community during these evening connections. It is truly a special opportunity for people to spend fellowship time together and get to know each other outside of worship on Sunday.

Thank you all who have helped set-up, cook, clean-up, and do dishes. Thank you to those who scrubbed those dishes by hand while the dishwasher was out of service. Wednesday night dinners at church would not have happened without all of you!

A quote from one of our dinner friends: “I wanted to thank you for leading the Wednesday Night Connections this year. They provided a tasty, nourishing and helpful meeting place to support al the things that are going on. … I enjoyed getting to know the kids a bit and working alongside them and yourself.”

We have kept food costs down and had many generous people give robustly to the free will offering. This is fantastic news as it has allowed us to schedule more Wednesday Night Connection dinners than we have been able to support in the past. Thank you!

We will be slowing down in the summer, but will still have one connections dinner a month followed by an outdoor Vespers service. Please put June 12, July 10, and August 14 on your calendars. See you then!
Much love,
Kim Dorr, Director of Fellowship Ministries
