Our New High School Youth Ministry Coordinator!

We are delighted to welcome Imani DenHerder as FCC’s new High School Youth Ministry Coordinator! Imani began with us on Celebration Sunday, September 13. She brings extensive experience in education, nonprofit leadership, and youth ministry, including working with children and youth at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Eugene. She also brings a broad global perspective shaped by travel and cross-cultural experiences.

A heartfelt thank you to our Search Team and Family Ministries Committee for the thoughtful and extensive search they carried out throughout the summer, reviewing over 50 applications. We are also especially grateful to our ’Ohana Youth, who showed up for interviews and an informal hangout with Imani, offering their voices and helping us discern the path forward. Their enthusiastic affirmation of Imani was an important part of the process.

Our regular High School Youth Group will meet Saturdays from 4 – 6 p.m. We’re excited for Imani to begin building relationships with our youth and families and helping create a welcoming community where young people can connect, grow, ask questions, serve, and belong.

Please join us in giving Imani a warm FCC welcome!
