Music is a vibrant and integral part of worship and the FCC community. With vocal choirs, a bell choir, a band, special “pop-up” groups, stellar soloists, regional and national guest artists, there’s truly something for everyone!

Our musicians strive to complement and enhance the worship experience, leading the congregation in song, praise, reflection, and spiritual expression. Experience is helpful but auditions are not required. FCC music ministries are led by a gifted team of musicians who are active professionally in the community and the world.

Chancel Choir

Music-ChancelChoir2

Chancel Choir is FCC’s flagship ensemble, and sings in most Sunday morning services and special services through out the program year (September to June). The choir’s primary role is to compliment each service by leading the congregation in song and spiritual expression.  Our repertoire spans classical, gospel, jazz, contemporary, spirituals, world music, Taize, choral/orchestral masterworks and more!

The choir rehearses most Wednesdays 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Wheeler room and sings in most Sunday morning services (with a 9:00 a.m. rehearsal). We love to welcome new singers – come check us out! No audition required, but music reading and choral experience are helpful.

All-Comers Choir

Music-ThirdSundayChoir3

All interested singers are invited to this occasional all comer’s choir. This is a great opportunity for singers who are not able to commit to a weekly choir, but are interested in singing occasionally in worship. We meet at 8:55 am in the sanctuary to learn a simple song that will be sung during that Sunday’s 10:00 a.m. worship service.

Festival Choir

Festival Choir is our largest vocal group, combining all choral ensembles and singers who are interested in “special occasions.” Recent projects have included a Service of Lessons and Carols during Advent, and Taize style services with instrumentalists. Festival Choir typically rehearses for six weeks prior to Advent and Holy Week on Wednesdays from 7-7:45 pm and Sundays from 11-12:30 am. Another excellent opportunity for those who love to sing, but can’t commit to a regular choir!

Bell Choir

Music-BellChoir

It’s time to shake the rafters with ringing bells again.  The bells play in services approximately once a month and rehearse most Tuesdays at 4:45 p.m. All ringers are welcome; familiar faces and new comers as well. If you are looking for a ministry to offer our church, Bell Choir is the place to start. Music reading is a plus but certainly not necessary. Can’t sing? RING! Shy in public? We play from the balcony and no one can see us! Anyone from high school age to those of riper years, please feel free to join us as we ring unto the lord.

FCC House Band

The House Band is a group of singers and instrumentalists who play mostly by ear, who gather occasionally with Vicki Brabham. New members encouraged.
