On Tuesday, September 22 at 6 p.m. in the FCC lower playground area, the Fellowship Fire team is creating and organizing an event to celebrate Fall Equinox that you will not want to miss. We’ll have fire altar(s) and a newly revealed living EARTH altar, with whose ceremonial interactions will inspire our Love of Creation. Don’t forget to bring a chair; dress for the weather.
About the Earth Altar: It contains pieces of fungus from the massive 2,400 year old fungus that lives under Oregon. With flowers from the baptismal water altar that was used to baptize five of our church family at the August outdoor baptismal event, it contains particles of water from the river Jordan itself. As part of the up-coming ceremony, each attendee will get to add some type of small organic matter to this living earth altar, which will carry forward through time along with the gifts it already holds.
Memories of Fellowship Waters: A Celebration of Baptism
A very special experience was had by all present when five were baptized on Friday, August 14 in the outdoor space of the preschool playground. We rejoiced as Derek Swenson, Rylee Dizon, Noah Dizon, Desi Van Denend and Harley Van Denend were baptized.
May the grace made visible in baptism continue to flow through all of our lives, reminding us that we are beloved, called, and forever held within God’s great current of love.
